This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit the Letters from Wendy website at lettersfromwendy.com (the “Site”), operated by Holly Speck Books (Ontario Business Identification Number 1001775039), the business of the author writing as Holly Speck (“I”, “me”, “my”) in Ontario, Canada. I aim to handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable privacy laws.
1. The short version
The Site is a simple information page. It has no accounts, forms, sales, or newsletter, and it does not set any cookies of its own or use analytics or advertising trackers. The only information involved is the technical data that any website visit naturally generates, described below.
2. Information collected automatically
Server logs. Like most websites, the hosting provider automatically records standard server log information when you visit, such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, your browser type and operating system, and the referring page. These logs are used only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site, are not used to identify you, and are kept for a limited period according to the host’s standard practices before being deleted.
Google Fonts. The Site’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, a service of Google LLC. When your browser loads the Site, it connects to Google’s servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) to download the fonts, which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser information as part of that request. Google’s handling of this information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Google’s servers may be located outside Canada, including in the United States, where the information may be subject to local laws.
3. Cookies
The Site does not set its own cookies. Third-party services such as Google Fonts are not intended to set cookies through font requests, but their practices are governed by their own policies.
4. How information is used and shared
Information described above is used only to deliver, maintain, and protect the Site. I do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Information may be disclosed if required by law, or to service providers (such as the hosting provider) only as needed to run the Site.
